Transfer Point Beta Glucan - The Best Beta Glucan Supplement

by Carly Neubert, BA, NC on October 09, 2018

Whether you have a common cold or are facing cancer, beta glucan supplements may hold the key to your success and improved health.

Beta glucan supplements have a wide range of benefits, from enhancing skin to supporting weight loss; and from treating Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) lesions to protecting bone marrow from cancer and radiation treatments.

Beta glucan supplements can be confused with Beta Glucanase. They are different supplements that are used for entirely different reasons. Beta Glucanase supplements are enzymes that promote digestion of fibers within your digestive tract. Beta glucan supplements are potent immune system modulators. There is a wide range of beta glucan doses. The dosage will vary depending on the condition you are experiencing and your body weight.

Beta glucan quality

There are vast differences in quality across different brands of Beta Glucan supplements. Transfer Point Beta Glucan supplements use the patented and medically studied ingredient Glucan 300. This raw ingredient has been analyzed and tested against all other beta glucans. Glucan 300, which is the raw ingredient in Transfer Point Beta Glucan, has consistently demonstrated to be more absorbable, and more biologically active than any other Beta Glucan supplement.

What are beta glucans?

They are a complex chain of fiber molecules (polysaccharides) found inside the cell walls of certain fungi or brewers' yeast. Oats have a very small amount of beta glucan molecules in them too. Beta glucan molecules come in different shapes, sizes, and arrangements. The beta glucan 1,3 configuration (think 3 puzzle pieces that fit together) is the compound that has been tested against bacteria, virus and cancer cells.

When beta glucan 1,3 is digested and absorbed into your bloodstream it attaches to macrophages. This allows these specialized killing cells to be on high alert for any illness causing intruder. Once the macrophages encounter an intruder, they are already primed by the beta 1,3-D to react quickly.

If you want to boost your immune system for any reason, from simple to complex, Beta Glucan 1,3D is the most biologically active supplement. Several studies have compared 16 brands of beta glucans. Many of the supplements did not contain active beta glucans. The top performer was Transfer Point Beta Glucan 1,3D.

Some brands may be less expensive, but you will have to take 8-100 times more capsules to get the same results as just one capsule of Transfer Point Beta 1,3 Glucan. What is worse than a winter cold?  A summer cold, of course!

Several years ago, my husband worked in a building that had no interior walls. Everyone had their own desks in separate little cubicles but they were all sharing the same air and germs. This caused a big problem in our house because he was always bringing home those germs that were flowing, unrestricted into his cubicle.

He was constantly getting colds and, 9 times out of 10, I was getting them too.

Uggh...

I was a supplement store manager at the time and I started to look at all the cold and flu products. Then I went to the general immune support products and that is when I found this gem: Transfer Point Beta Glucan.

There have been more than a handful of exciting studies on Transfer Point Beta Glucan over that last decade that show the amazing immune modulation that can be achieved with beta glucan supplements.

But what does this mean for you? Beta Glucan 1,3D has been clinically shown to the reduce the length and severity of cold and flu symptoms. In other words, if you use Beta Glucan 1,3D during a cold or flu, you can shorten the length of time that you will be miserable. I don't know about you, but for me, that is a perfect motivation for taking this supplement.

What exactly makes Transfer Point Beta Glucan 1,3D better than its competitors?

The simple answer is quality and research. Healthy Habits Living is devoted to good quality supplements, with sound research, and great prices.

When it comes to Transfer Point Beta Glucan 1,3D, here are some things to consider:

  1. Beta Glucan 1,3D is the specific kind of beta glucan that has been studied and proven to shorten the length of a cold. Transfer Point uses this type of beta glucan in their supplement. But not all companies will use the specific 1,3D type. These supplements will not be as effective or useful because they do not contain the specific form that will stimulate immune cells.
  2. Another aspect is purity. As defined, beta glucans are a type of polysaccharide extracted from a cell wall. Transfer Point ensures that their extract is at least 80% beta glucan extract. Other companies will provide a product that is a 50% beta glucan extract and the remaining 50% is just dead protein. The dead protein doesn’t help your immune system, it just takes up room in the capsule.

So, can I just eat brewer’s yeast and get the same effect?

Transfer Point Beta Glucan isn’t the same thing as eating brewer’s yeast. Transfer Point Beta Glucan is extracted from the cell walls of brewers’ yeast. The beta glucan is separated from the rest of the brewers’ yeast. The remainder is a very concentrated beta glucan supplement that has immune enhancing power.

When you eat brewers’ yeast, you are getting some active beta glucan, but not a very high dose. It would be nearly impossible to get 500 milligrams of beta glucan by eating brewer’s yeast. It is very easy to get 500 milligrams of beta glucan by taking Transfer Point Beta Glucan 1,3D because this supplement is in a concentrated form.

What if I am allergic to yeast or get yeast infections? Should I avoid it?

Transfer Point Beta Glucan is not a yeast. It is a component of a yeast cell. It is extracted from the cell wall. Transfer Point Beta Glucan will not cause yeast infections or reactions.

Beta Glucan is usually extracted from brewers’ or bakers’ yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae). Transfer Point Beta Glucan supplements only contain Beta Glucan 1,3D extracts, they do not contain any live yeast from baker’s yeast. Beta Glucan supplements will not cause or exacerbate a yeast infection.

I heard that a study showed that oats (oatmeal) have Beta Glucans and can help me lose weight.

What about oats? Isn't there active beta glucan in oats? Yes, oats do contain some beta glucan, but it isn’t in the 1,3D form. It is not a good source of beta glucan 1,3D and will not have a significant impact on your immune cells. Oats have both soluble and insoluble fiber, which will help you feel full and satisfied. Some studies have shown weight loss when a small portion of oats (oatmeal) was added to the diet.

When is the best time to take Transfer Point Beta Glucan?

Because it is a fractionated extract, it is a good idea to take 30 minutes before eating or 2 hours after eating. This way the digestive process will not break down the beta glucans, but rather deliver them right to your bloodstream where they can stimulate your immune cells.

How can I learn more about the science and benefit of beta glucans?

There are many types of beta glucan found in nature. If you want to become an expert, read Beta Glucan: Nature’s Secret. It is a great book written by leading researcher Dr. Vaclav Vetvicka.

What is the recommended dose?

The recommended dose for maintenance is 1 mg per pound. If you weigh 150 pounds, you would take 150mg to maintain general health. Transfer Point Beta Glucan is available in a 100 mg capsules. I recommend 1 capsule per day for immune support. During times of stress or exposure to illness, I recommend 1 capsule taken twice daily.

For acute illness, I recommend 10 mg per pound. A 150-pound person would take 1500 mg per day or 3 of the 500 mg capsules. Higher doses are commonly used by those dealing with cancer.

Is it safe?

Beta glucan supplements are rated GRAS, Generally Accepted as Safe by the FDA Food and Drug Administration. Beta glucans have been tested and show no negative interactions with any prescription drugs. They have been shown to improve the effectiveness of some cholesterol medications and chemotherapy treatments.

Every batch of Beta Glucan 300 that is used to produce Transfer Point Beta Glucan 1,3D supplements is tested and receives a Certificate of Analysis (COA) for purity and potency. The facilities are cGMP certified.
