We all have good and bad bacteria in our guts. The key is to find a balance that ensures your good health and energy. The best method is to start the 4 R's program. I highlighted each step earlier this month, you can check them out by clicking this link here ---> http://www.healthyhabitsliving.com/blogs/i-love-your-guts
Re-Balance is Step 4 of my strategy for restoring and maintainging gut health. We all have a vague idea of what probiotics are, but do you really understand how important they are?
Recent studies have shown that changes in gut flora (probiotics in the gut) have been linked to cancer, diabetes, fatigue, obesity, and more. In fact, we have more bacteria cells in our guts than we have human cells! These good and bad bacteria inside of us actually outnumber our own human cells. That is why it is so important to keep the bad guys in check or they can over grow and cause a lot of unpleasant symptoms.
Here is how to keep the good bacteria happy and thriving: Eat probiotic foods and take a probiotic supplement. I've been in the health industry for over 10 years and I have seen hundreds of probiotic supplements and I can tell you one thing----a lot of them are not worth the money. Often these pills are not strong enough, have too many fillers, or don't even have live bacteria in them at all. A majority of these pills don't even make it past your stomach acid.
There are several products I trust and recommend. The most unique and effective one I use is Prescript Assist. These capsules pack a punch!
Here are some benefits Prescript Assist has that puts it above the rest of the probiotic supplements in the market:
1. Prescript Assist does not have to be kept in the fridge like other products
2. Prescript Assist contains 29 different strains of bacteria while other products usually only have 2-4 strains
3. Prescript Assist has bacteria that have been naturally found in the human intestines as far back as the Paleolithic Era
4. The Spore form found in Prescript Assist will make it past your stomach acid while other products will not
5. Prescript Assist is backed by medical studies and follow up studies
6. Prescript Assist will stay and colonize in the gut while other strains like Acidophilus will not colonize
Probiotic foods are another way to help your gut stay balanced. Probiotic foods are full of live, healthy, and good bacteria just waiting to settle in your guts.
Here are my 4 favorite probiotic-rich fermented foods:
Taking a probiotic supplement and eating my 4 recommended probiotic-rich foods will do wonders in re-balancing your gut and keeping you healthy and happy. The weather is getting warmer, and our skin is suffering as a result. If you’re like me, you carry around hand lotion wherever you go to keep dry skin at bay. What if this isn’t enough? Vital Proteins has the key – pasture raised collagen peptides.

Flora, flora, flora. Many studies (as well as our own articles) have shown that maintaining a healthy and balanced intestinal flora is one of the key components of overall well-being. Building on this idea, many healthcare practitioners have now begun to examine the correlations between gut and vaginal flora. Basically, a healthy balance of gut flora has the same corresponding benefits as vaginal flora.

We usually think about histamine related to seasonal allergies. But histamine has many more functions in your body. It is a natural part of your immune system and your digestion. It is a neurotransmitter that sends messages from your brain to your body. When histamine is created and released in your body, it causes an inflammatory response. Histamine is a warning flag that alerts your immune system and cells to be on guard for invaders. Histamine is in your stomach acid and helps to digest the foods you eat. It is the main culprit in the rising cases of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and histamine intolerance.
