Estrogen is usually associated with women. While women have more estrogen than men, both sexes have and need healthy estrogen levels. In men, estrogen is necessary for sex drive, erectile function, and memory. In women, estrogen does much more. It works hand in hand with progesterone to regulate the menstrual cycle, pregnancy, bone health, libido, and much more. BioResponse DIM is a supplement that supports beneficial metabolism in both women and men by improving estrogen metabolism and supporting a healthy estrogen balance.
Unfortunately, we live in a world full of plastic, toxic body care, and animal products full of hormones. All of these, and many other causes, effect estrogen balance in men, women, and children. To learn more about chemicals that disrupt estrogen, see my article about estrogen.
BioResponse DIM regulates estrogen and in turn helps to regulate progesterone and testosterone levels. Not only does BioResponse DIM help regulate your hormones, but the regulation of your hormones can help with breast health, prostate health, and successful weight management.
Diindolylmethane is an indole found originally in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cabbage, brussels sprouts, and cauliflower. Unlike natural diindolylmethane, however, BioResponse DIM formula allows for much better absorption and usage of diindolylmethane.
The main ingredient of BioResponse DIM is a proprietary DIM complex. It contains a blend of diindolylmethane, vitamin E, and phosphatidylcholine. The latter two ingredients are coupled with DIM to increase the absorption. The recommended dose is 1 or 2 capsules per day with food.
There really aren’t many side effects you should know about, but there are a few other pieces of information that I think are pertinent before you start taking or continue taking this supplement. Definitely talk to your practitioner before you take this if you’re currently taking any prescription medication.
If you have a corn allergy you should not take this as some of the ingredients are derived from corn. You may experience some changes in urine color, but these changes are harmless and just indicate the secretion of various minerals.
Finally, if you’re taking an oral contraceptive, you should also consult with your doctor about this supplement. If you’re planning on becoming pregnant or are pregnant or nursing, you absolutely should not be taking DIM unless you are working with a practitioner and getting regular estrogen blood tests.
While DIM technically doesn’t have to be microencapsulated, realistically, however, if you don’t take DIM in a microencapsulated form, you will have to take a much higher dose. Microencapsulated DIM is much easier to absorb and ready for your body to use in estrogen metabolism.
In addition, with BioResponse DIM, the microencapsulated formula does not require activation by stomach acid, something that is unique to this formula. You can take and receive all of the benefits of DIM, even if you’re taking antacids or H2 blockers like Zantac (which I don’t recommend).
The absorption rate of BioResponse DIM is much higher than normal crystalline DIM. For example, a study shows that after only 2 hours, you can absorb 65 mg of BioResponse DIM, while you can only absorb 18 mg of normal crystalline DIM.
Now that I have talked a bit about how useful BioResponse DIM is, let’s take a look at what a recent customer had to say:
William W. had this to say about BioResponse DIM:
“This is one supplement where you can see the results. By metabolizing the bad estrogen, testosterone rises. I can see the results at the gym. I definitely had a improvement of my physique even with the same gym routine.”
Healthy hormones are not only important for sexual function; they affect our mood, weight, and memory. Of course, no healthy hormone program is complete without a low-carbohydrate diet. If you would like to get started on a customized diet and hormone program, set up a consultation with me!

The weather is getting warmer, and our skin is suffering as a result. If you’re like me, you carry around hand lotion wherever you go to keep dry skin at bay. What if this isn’t enough? Vital Proteins has the key – pasture raised collagen peptides.

Flora, flora, flora. Many studies (as well as our own articles) have shown that maintaining a healthy and balanced intestinal flora is one of the key components of overall well-being. Building on this idea, many healthcare practitioners have now begun to examine the correlations between gut and vaginal flora. Basically, a healthy balance of gut flora has the same corresponding benefits as vaginal flora.

We usually think about histamine related to seasonal allergies. But histamine has many more functions in your body. It is a natural part of your immune system and your digestion. It is a neurotransmitter that sends messages from your brain to your body. When histamine is created and released in your body, it causes an inflammatory response. Histamine is a warning flag that alerts your immune system and cells to be on guard for invaders. Histamine is in your stomach acid and helps to digest the foods you eat. It is the main culprit in the rising cases of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and histamine intolerance.
