Who and what is Pharmax? It is a company that offers a wide range of supplements, including fish oils, HLC Immunobiotics, along with some first aid treatments. They are owned by the parent company Genestra, which emphasizes research and innovation in creating naturally sourced dietary supplements. This brand consists of a multitude of accessible and beneficial health supplements that many are currently searching for. What does the Pharmax brand stand for?
Oftentimes, the best way to find out if a product will work for you is to first dig deeper and find out what the company itself stands for. Think to yourself, what do I value most in a company? Is it innovation? Technology? Sustainability? If you’ve agreed with any of these, then Pharmax just might be the right company for you.
The Genestra family of brands is based on a scientific foundation that combines traditional use as well as research and innovation. It also employees a distinguished advisory board of researchers at academic institutions, medical schools, and hospitals with a wide array of expertise - from microbiologists and immunologists to nutritional scientists. Because of this, you can be sure that each product is thoroughly researched before it reaches you.
Some of Genestra’s major areas of study are currently in the role of human microflora, the development of natural plant compounds that support microbial balance, and the role of fatty acids. They also participate in academic research through funding and the allocation of materials. They are currently a part of 19 trials worldwide, including research in alpha-lipoic acid in neurology, vitamin D in infant/maternal health, and zinc in skin health. Through this research, they have collaborated with the Mayo Clinic, Stanford University, Michigan State University, Oregon Health & Science University, and the University Hospital Munich-Großhadern.
In doing so, Genestra hopes to not only provide high-quality and ethically sourced dietary supplements but foster a productive community of companies and scientifically driven individuals.
What kinds of products does Pharmax offer?
As I mentioned earlier, Pharmax offers a wide variety of dietary supplements and topical solutions. According to our customers, some of the most sought-after Pharmax products are their Finest Pure Fish Oil Capsules, Finest Pure Fish Oil with Essential Oil of Orange, Alli-Cinn 60 Capsules, and HLC Baby F.
The Finest Pure Fish Oil is a real winner. Not only do they sell out constantly, but they are a super simple addition to a health-conscious daily routine. It is most commonly sold in the form of capsules, each of which contains 50 mg of omega-3s, 300 mg of DHA, and 68 mg of EPA.
Another best-seller are the Alli-Cinn Capsules. These are an herbal supplement, fortified with a combination of freeze dried garlic and cinnamon oil extract. This blend has been traditionally used to promote cardiovascular health. On top of this, recent research indicates that the consumption of these ingredients is known to lower cholesterol levels and help maintain lipid levels in the body. I recommend them for clients with Metabolic Syndrome, Syndrome X, high triglycerides, and diabetes. These capsules provide 1000 mg of garlic clove and 80 mg of cinnamaldehyde per daily serving, so they are a quick and easy way to provide yourself with some helpful nutrients.
Lastly, HLC Baby F is a staple supplement for many parents. It is a probiotic supplement for babies fed by formula. It contains Lactobacillus salivarius, Lactobacillus paracasei, Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis, all of which promote immune function and healthy skin in infants.
It’s plain to see Pharmax provides a diverse variety of products, matched by equally diverse potential consumers. Now, this is just a sample of what Pharmax has to offer. Check out our site to browse some more Pharmax products.
Why is fish oil good for you?
Fish oil is actually one of the most commonly consumed dietary supplements. This is mainly due to the fact that it is rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which provide several health benefits, such as protection from many diseases.
Fish oil is derived naturally from oily fish such as tuna and anchovies. According to the WHO, 1-2 servings of fish should be consumed per week in order to sustain proper omega-3 fatty acid levels. If you don’t eat 1-2 servings per week of fish, you are likely deficient in essential fatty acids and should take a high quality fish oil supplement.
The main omega-3s found in these supplements are eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), whereas the omega-3 in plant sources is mainly alpha-linolenic acid (ALA). Why are these so important? Western diets have replaced many of these essential omega-3s with other fats like omega-6s. Soy, canola, sunflower and safflower are commonly used in most pre-packed foods. All of these oils are high in omega-6s and contribute to omega-3 deficiency, inflammation and a host of diseases.
You still may be wondering, but what exactly does fish oil do? It has numerous health benefits, including supporting heart health, treating certain mental disorders, aiding weight loss, supporting eye and skin health, reducing inflammation, supporting pregnancy and early life, reducing liver fat, and more. Read more about how omega-3s work in every cell of your body in my previous blog.
A study from the Journal of Nutrition, Metabolism, and Cardiovascular Diseases found that consuming fish oil could be effective in lowering triglycerides, a risk factor associated with heart disease. That means people with high triglycerides, diabetes, pre-diabetes, and Metabolic Syndrome will benefit from increased omega-3s from fish oil.
Another study from the Journal of Psychiatric Research determined that individuals with different mental disorders had lower omega-3 levels in the blood. This can largely be attributed to the fact that your brain is made up of 60% fat, so proper fatty acid levels are vital to a healthy and functioning brain. Anyone with anxiety, depression, or other mood disorders should include fish oil supplements in their health regime.
Do supplements really help improve your health?
All this talk of supplements may have you wondering, do they really work? Is it worth it to research various supplement companies? It should come as no surprise that the American, and Western diets in general, leave a lot to be desired when it comes to your health. Many of us simply take supplements to make up for what is lacking in our diets, yet some provide an additional health boost, such as preventing disease.
Getting your nutrients from a pill, gummy, or capsule sounds super easy, however some supplements can be dangerous, especially when taken in large doses. The table below shows the recommended daily intake of some key vitamins and minerals. There isn’t an established upper limit for fish oil. Most organizations recommend around 1000mg of omega-3 fish oil per day. That dose is to maintain health, but if you are already deficient or have a disease state, studies show 3000-6000mg per day may be needed.

Though research has indicated a positive correlation between certain dietary supplements and improved health, according to Dr. JoAnn Manson, chief of preventive medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and professor of medicine at Harvard Medical School, "Usually it is best to try to get these vitamins and minerals and nutrients from food as opposed to supplements.” In a perfect world we are all eating nutrient-dense foods, managing our stress and avoiding alcohol and other harmful substances. But in reality, we often eat foods that are devoid of nutrients and expose ourselves to stress, medications, and a toxic lifestyle.
Because of this, it is always a good idea to take high-quality research-baked supplements. Pharmax is a great example of a company that keeps research, innovation, and the well being of its customers in mind. To browse some of Pharmax’s products, click here.
