The clinical efficacy of this combination was evaluated in a randomized, double blind, placebo-controlled trial of 42 healthy men between 18-50 years of age, who received the combination of niacinamide (714 mg) and pyridoxine (19 mg) or placebo for 8 days following eccentric exercise-induced muscle damage triggered by electrical stimulation. Supplementation significantly increased the proportion of actively regenerating muscle fibers relative to placebo after 8 days of daily use following exercise-induced muscle damage. The supplemented group exhibited a 35% greater number of activated muscle stem cells and a 14% mean increase in muscle fiber recovery rate compared to the placebo group.
