Osteo-Nutrients II is a comprehensive bone support formula that contains high amounts of elemental Calcium and Magnesium, as well as the other essential nutrients for healthy teeth and bones. Calcium is essential to many physiological functions, such as helping to maintain and build bone mass and strength before and during menopause. Boron, which also plays a role in bone health, has been added to this formula. Vitamin K2-7, menaquinone, promotes the ability of osteocalcin to bind calcium and supports healthy bone mineralization. Besides supporting bone health, Vitamin K2-7 also promotes healthy cardiac and vascular function.
Regular exercise and a healthy diet with enough calcium help young women maintain good bone health and may reduce their risk of osteoporosis later in life. For people with a family history of osteoporosis, the elderly, and menopausal women, adequate Calcium intake is linked to reduced risk of osteoporosis by slowing the rate of bone loss. Daily calcium intakes above 2000mg are not likely to provide additional benefit.
