Natural Fatty Acids and Botanicals Help Rebalance Intestinal Microbiota

This powerful formula combines specific natural agents that discourage growth of yeast, fungi, and other undesirable intestinal microorganisms, thus supporting a healthy balance of intestinal microbiota. Berberine, an alkaloid found in various plants, has several metabolic and inhibitory actions. Polyphenols in green tea can adversely affect viability of certain undesirable microorganisms and yeasts. Undecylenic acid provided by calcium undecylenate is a monounsaturated fatty acid which inhibits hyphae formation in yeast cells, while sorbic acid has well-known inhibitory action against some undesirable microorganisms.

Environmental and lifestyle factors can disrupt normal microbiota balance and affect gastrointestinal and immune system function. Natural approaches to support a healthy gastrointestinal microbiota balance often include supplemental probiotics, prebiotics, enzymes, botanicals, and/or fatty acids such as caprylic acid or undecylenic acid. Undecylex combines selected berberine-containing botanicals with undecylenic acid, sorbic acid, and green tea extract to help support a healthy gastrointestinal microbiota balance. These supplemental ingredients discourage growth of undesirable intestinal microorganisms, including yeast, fungi, and other undesirable microorganisms.

    Product Features:

Undecylex focuses on the benefits of selected botanicals, fatty acids, and organic acids that help restore or maintain a healthy microbiota balance in the gastrointestinal tract by discouraging growth of undesirable microorganisms. Ingredients included are:

    • Undecylenic acid: Disrupts fungal metabolism. This monounsaturated fatty acid disrupts fungal metabolism by limiting production of hyphae.
    • Sorbic acid: Limits microbial growth. Widely used since the 1940s to limit microbial growth in a variety of foods, sorbic acid is an organic acid that penetrates microbial cell membranes and inhibits metabolic activities.
    • Berberine: Exerts inhibitory actions Berberine alkaloids belong to a class of naturally occurring alkaloids found in a number of plant species. These compounds have been shown to exert several metabolic and inhibitory actions.
    • Green tea: Decreases viability of undesirable bacteria and yeast. A lesser known benefit of green tea polyphenols is the ability to disrupt microbial cell membranes, inhibit undesirable host cell binding, inactivate or reduce toxin secretion, and trigger host defense mechanisms.
