I often have clients who want to drop 10 pounds in the next month. They have set this goal because they want to look great for a special occasion or vacation.
The good news: It is entirely possible to lose 10 pounds in a month.
The bad news: Rapid weight loss is usually "water weight" and very damaging to the metabolism. Your metabolism can be your best friend or your worst enemy. So don't screw with it!
The conclusion: Healthy and steady weight loss is best for your overall health. Rapid weight loss may work in the short term, but has negative long term consequences.
There are some SAFE and proven strategies for accelerating weight loss that I will share with you below.
Healthy weight loss is defined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as 1-2 pounds per week. I tend to agree with this. There are a few safe ways to accelerate healthy weight loss without damaging your metabolism.
The first way to accelerate healthy weight loss is doing a gentle detox progam. You may lose more weight while on the program because you are eating less calories and easily digested foods.
You can also safely accelerate weight loss with a PaleoMeal Lean Body Program. The key to healthy weight loss is to make your foods count. Don't bother eating a bunch of low fat or diet foods. You may lose some weight with this strategy, but in the end, you will likely gain the weight back.
Protein and healthy fats are the foundation of a fat-burning diet. The PaleoMeal Lean Body Program fits perfectly into that model.
Here are the highlights:
*Dairy free protein shake that makes a great breakfast
*15 days of fat-burning menus and recipes
*Daily metabolism boosting supplement packets
The biggest road-block to weight loss is blood sugar. So many of us just eat too many carbohydrates and our blood sugar gets way too high. When blood sugar is high, your body changes the sugar in to fatty acids and sends it to storage in your fat cells. And then you get FAT!
If you have been in this high blood sugar cycle, then your cells may not be able to use sugar anymore. This causes high blood sugar, high insulin, and high triglycerides. That is called diabetes, or pre-diabetes, or insulin resistance, or metabolic syndrome. There are lots of names for this problem.
One of the top supplements for helping your cells to learn how to use sugar is called Berberine. Studies have shown that Berberine (a component found in Indian Berries) can help to lower blood sugar and insulin, and decrease triglycerides.
As promised in last month's email I am offering a free 30 minute planning session when you purchase a PaleoMeal Lean Body Program. This is your chance to get my expert advice and tips for managing your weight and accelerating your metabolism.

The weather is getting warmer, and our skin is suffering as a result. If you’re like me, you carry around hand lotion wherever you go to keep dry skin at bay. What if this isn’t enough? Vital Proteins has the key – pasture raised collagen peptides.

Flora, flora, flora. Many studies (as well as our own articles) have shown that maintaining a healthy and balanced intestinal flora is one of the key components of overall well-being. Building on this idea, many healthcare practitioners have now begun to examine the correlations between gut and vaginal flora. Basically, a healthy balance of gut flora has the same corresponding benefits as vaginal flora.

We usually think about histamine related to seasonal allergies. But histamine has many more functions in your body. It is a natural part of your immune system and your digestion. It is a neurotransmitter that sends messages from your brain to your body. When histamine is created and released in your body, it causes an inflammatory response. Histamine is a warning flag that alerts your immune system and cells to be on guard for invaders. Histamine is in your stomach acid and helps to digest the foods you eat. It is the main culprit in the rising cases of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) and histamine intolerance.
