SagaPro - Introduction & Review

by Carly Neubert, BA, NC on August 28, 2019

What is SagaPro?

SagaPro Bladder Health is an herbal supplement that helps to reduce the frequency of urination in people who have a smaller than average bladder capacity. Frequent urination can also be known as overactive bladder (OAB), or irritable bladder. SagaPro is a liquid extract of Angelica archangelica leaves which are grown in the pure air and grounds of Iceland. The fruit and roots of the plant have been used over many centuries.

The Icelandic plant is so valuable that at one point in history, the Vikings used Angelica archangelica as a form of currency! The plant is in such abundance that it is considered an invasive plant in Iceland. In modern-day Iceland, it is used in common foods and as a tea, as well as being utilized in SagaPro.

Who uses SagaPro?

SagaPro Bladder Health is for both men and women who experience an overactive bladder. Overactive bladder affects about 17% of women and 16% of men over the age of 18. It is a common complaint with aging. Often a bladder condition starts as a simple inconvenience and ends up controlling your life. There is no medically known cause of OAB and treatments are limited.

The herb in SagaPro, Angelica archangelica, is often confused with Angelica Sinensis, which is a Chinese herb.  Angelica Sinesis is also known as Dong Quai and is not recommended for OAB. Dong Quai is useful for men and women with hormonal imbalances. Angelica archangelica does not affect hormone levels in men or women.

SagaPro may help anyone who:

  • Has urinary urgency
  • Is incontinent
  • Suffers from bedwetting
  • Goes to the bathroom frequently
  • Can’t sleep because of bathroom trips
  • Has low bladder capacity
  • Has overactive bladder (OAB)

What are the ingredients in the SagaPro supplement?

Each tablet of SagaPro contains Angelica archangelica liquid leaf extraction. SagaPro is vegan, non-GMO, and has no sugar, salt, yeast, wheat, gluten, corn, soy, dairy products or any additional artificial add-ins.

Does SagaPro work?

The active ingredient in SagaPro is Angelica archangelica leaf extract. The extract contains isoquercitrin which is responsible for controlling the muscle activity in your bladder. It allows your bladder muscles to relax which decreases urgency and frequency of urination. One study showed a 300% improvement in bladder function. The study showed improvements in three areas: a decrease in bladder capacity, decrease in bathroom trips, and an increase in uninterrupted sleep.

The amount of users of SagaPro has increased dramatically since 2005. In Iceland, saw palmetto berry used to be the #1 choice for bladders issues. Now, SagaPro has earned the top spot.

What is the recommended use/dosage of the product?

Begin taking SagaPro with a loading dose or 2-3 tablets per day. I recommend spreading out the doses. If your symptoms decrease, you can drop down to 1 tablet per day. Each tablet contains about 100 mg of bioactive ingredients.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, contact your healthcare provider to see if using SagaPro is safe for you.

Are there any negative side effects?

Side effects of SagaPro have not been detected in users. Though this is not to say that side effects are not possible when taking SagaPro. There is also a possibility that you may be allergic to Angelica archangelica. Studies prove that SagaPro does not affect hormones and does not bring any other hormonal side effects. If you are experiencing any additional, uncommon issues after taking SagaPro, we recommend you stop taking the product and contact your healthcare provider.

How long does it take to recognize a difference after taking SagaPro?

Overactive bladder is a relatively new and complicated health issue. Doctors are mystified about causes and treatments for the symptoms. I recommend taking SagaPro for 30 days. If you do not experience a reduction in symptoms, then it is likely that Angelica archangelica will not help your bladder issues.

What research has been done behind SagaPro?

SagaPro has been clinically proven to support healthy bladder function. The Scandinavian Journal of Urology completed a random, double-blinded study on the effects of SagaPro in men who wake up frequently in the night to use the bathroom (nocturia). They took 69 male patients over the age of 45 and randomly placed them into two groups. One group took a placebo version of SagaPro while the other group actually took the leaf extract.

The study lasted 8 weeks and the results indicated that SagaPro was safe to use and reduced trips to the bathroom. Because the men did not have to wake to urinate, the quality and length of their sleep increased also. This is just one of the many clinical studies performed with SagaPro. All of these studies have taken place in Iceland where Angelica archangelica grows prolifically.

What are people saying about SagaPro?

SagaPro has nothing but positive testimonials. Those who have used SagaPro say:

“I am very happy to have discovered SagaPro! After only a few days, I have seen great improvement.”

“Thanks to SagaPro I am no longer preoccupied at every event. My quality of life has clearly increased!”

Many SagaPro users are thrilled with their new freedom and consider taking one tablet per day a small price to pay.

I recommend SagaPro in conjunction with a low-carb and low-sugar diet. Diets that are high in carbohydrates can influence bladder function. The number of people suffering from bladder conditions is rising and solutions are not improving. While doctors may be confused by the causes of OAB, SagaPro remains a time-tested and easy solution.
