Vitamin D deficiency and insufficiency is common in children. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to many chronic conditions, including multiple sclerosis, type 1 diabetes, infectious disease, heart disease, rickets, and type 2 diabetes. The Endocrine Societys Clinical Guidelines recommended that to prevent and treat vitamin D deficiency, children 0-1 year and 1-18 years need 400-1000 and 600- 1000 IU/day, respectively.
Each drop of Kid-D contains 1,000 IU of vitamin D3. The vitamin D3 is put into a base of medium chain triglycerides (MCT). Medium chain triglycerides have unique physical properties which allow them to be readily absorbed without the need for emulsifying agents. This allows for a great way to deliver a pure liquid vitamin D3 which is tasteless, odorless and mixes well into any beverage.
