Protect Your Skin
Skin is a very extensive and delicate tissue (strictly speaking, it is an organ) that constitutes our natural barrier against the outside world and harmful agents. Dryness, chapping, and redness are the most common signs of damage caused by environmental factors like exposure to UVA and UVB rays, cold, wind, pollution, allergens or aggressive cleaning products. However, these signs can also be a reflection of a poor diet or the result of chafing due to tight clothing or garments that do not allow the skin to breathe, and in some cases, they can be caused by stress. Moreover, damage can also be from accidental causes, such as insect bites, minor burns, and trauma.
Aging Skin
Some skin is more delicate than others, for example that of babies. Did you know that the skin does not mature until about 3 or 4 years, of age? During this period the skin is particularly susceptible to attack by the environmental factors like cold, dry air, excessive heat or irritation caused by diapers. Often the moisture diapers retain can cause uncomfortable rashes.
Advancing age also brings challenges, such as peri-monocausal and menopausal periods, when the reduction in estrogen and decrease in sebum production make the skin drier and more delicate, requiring greater care.
